How to transplant houseplants

Potted plants, as they grow, need to be transplanted in order to have more space and develop properly. In addition, the fact of providing them with a new substrate and fertilizer will help them look more splendor. This usually happens especially with indoor plants, since they are always in pots and often we still have them in the small pot that they brought when buying them. To make your plants look more beautiful and grow healthy.

You will need to:

  • plant to transplant
  • Substrate for indoor plants
  • pot or pot
  • Shovel
  • Water

Steps to follow:

Step: 1

The best time to transplant those indoor plants that need it is spring, since the increase in hours of sunshine and the higher temperatures cause most plants to accelerate their growth.

Step: 2

To transplant the plants correctly you should choose a pot or pot about 5 or 10 cm in diameter larger than the previous one. If you want more information on how to choose the right pot, you can see it here.

Step: 3

You must use a special substrate for indoor plants, which you can find without any problem in any garden store, florist, specialized center, or department store.

Step: 4

Add a few inches of this new substrate to the bottom of the new pot or pot.

Step: 5

Carefully remove the plant from the old pot to avoid damaging the roots and place it on top of the new substrate base.

Step: 6

Next, fill the sides of the pot with more substrate without pressing excessively, making sure that the new level of the plant is the same or slightly higher than it was before the transplant.

Step: 7

Finally, you must water the plant without getting it flooded, and let it continue to grow in its new pot.

Tips

Buy special soil for indoor plants.
